Readers, business leaders, and supporters of inspiring leadership are expected to gather for a special magazine signing event featuring Mikee Romero, who graces the March cover of Rising Tigers Magazine as its “Man of the Year.”
The event is scheduled on March 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at National Book Store. The magazine signing offers readers a rare opportunity to personally meet Romero, interact with him, and have their copies of the publication signed.
Organized by Tag Media Group, the publisher of Rising Tigers Magazine, the gathering aims to highlight inspiring leadership stories and provide a platform where influential personalities can connect directly with the public. The event will be led by Andrew Troy Nicolas, who has consistently promoted stories of leadership, governance, and public service through the organization’s various media platforms.
Romero was chosen as the magazine’s “Man of the Year” in recognition of his lifetime achievements and contributions across multiple sectors including business, public service, sports development, and humanitarian initiatives. Known for his entrepreneurial vision and dedication to nation-building, Romero has built successful enterprises that operate in port terminals across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. His business interests also extend to logistics, aviation, real estate, power generation, and renewable energy—industries that play a crucial role in strengthening national connectivity, trade, and economic growth.
His entrepreneurial success was recognized internationally when he became one of the youngest Filipinos included in the Forbes Philippines 50 Richest at the age of 40. This milestone reflected not only his financial success but also his impact on the country’s business landscape.
Beyond business, Romero has had a notable career in public service. As a three-term congressman and former Senior Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, he authored and co-authored more than 1,200 legislative measures, with 148 enacted into law. Among the landmark policies he supported are the Free College Tuition Law, the Universal Health Care Act, the Mental Health Act, and the Eddie Garcia Law. These measures have significantly improved access to education, healthcare, and worker protection for millions of Filipinos.
Romero’s influence also extends into sports development, where he has played an important role in strengthening sports organizations and supporting Filipino athletes competing in international competitions. Through his initiatives, sports governance and athlete support systems have been improved, helping Filipino athletes perform better on the global stage while promoting national pride.
In addition to his contributions in business, politics, and sports, Romero is known for his humanitarian work. As a Full Colonel in the Philippine Air Force Reserve, he has supported initiatives that help strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, including efforts connected to the acquisition of Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules aircraft used for disaster response, defense, and humanitarian missions.
His humanitarian outreach has also reached remote communities across the Philippines, from northern island territories to southern provinces. Romero has led and supported relief operations in areas affected by typhoons, floods, and earthquakes, while also providing assistance to indigenous communities in Pampanga and Zambales.
According to Grace Bondad Nicolas, the magazine signing events serve as an important platform that connects leaders with readers and the wider community.
“We’re the only publication that can hold magazine signing events at National Book Stores nationwide, and it has become a meaningful platform for our leaders to connect with readers. We’re grateful to National Book Store for this partnership,” Nicolas said.
During the event, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Romero alongside special guests from the Capital1 Solar Spikers, adding excitement to the gathering.
Supporters, readers, and members of the public are encouraged to attend the event for an afternoon of dialogue, inspiration, and an exclusive magazine signing experience that celebrates leadership, service, and national impact.
